Bowl Game Preview

It’s beginning to look a lot like football! Bowl season is right around the corner with Championship week starting tonight. There are a lot of exciting matchups this weekend that can decide what Bowl games your favorite teams are playing in. With four undefeated teams left at this point of the season, this weekend is sure to bring some madness to the college football playoffs and bowl matchups. We do have some early information and predictions on who Wisconsin, Northwestern and Notre Dame will be playing.

Wow! Another successful season of Wisconsin football. For the 22nd season in a row, the Badgers will be participating in a bowl game. They have won eight of their last nine bowl games dating back to 2014. With their win on Saturday, it is looking more and more likely they will be participating in the Music City Bowl in Nashville on December 30 at Nissan Stadium. The Badgers will know for sure where they’re playing on December 3, with tickets to the public available on December 7. With the early projections, it is also seeming likely Wisconsin will take on Texas A&M. The two schools have never faced off before in football. Texas A&M is currently going through some challenges of their own, firing their coach, Jimbo Fisher. Early predictions of the game have the spread at Texas A&M –5 over Wisconsin. Others are saying there’s a chance the Badgers will be playing in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium, or the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida against Auburn. Keep an eye out to see who the Badgers will play!

What a great season! Northwestern is going bowling yet again, despite facing a lot of adversity throughout their season. They are eligible for a bowl game after two struggling seasons not making one; the Wildcats were a lot more successful this year. They won again on Saturday, taking down their in-state rivals University of Illinois. Early Bowl Game predictions have Northwestern playing in the Las Vegas Bowl against Utah. The odds have the game projected at Utah –10.5 over Northwestern. We will know for sure who they play on December 3. Utah had to deal with their starting quarterback being injured for the season and were competitive all year in the very difficult PAC 12. Utah will then be joining the Big 12 next season. Northwestern could also play in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona. With this exciting time of the year for College Football, Championship weekend this weekend becomes critical to many of the matchups taking place.

The Fighting Irish are once again going to a bowl game! After an exciting season of ups and downs, Notre Dame can enjoy the conference championship weekend and see where they end up. With a nice win over Stanford last weekend, the Irish have a couple different bowl scenarios they can end up with. Notre Dame will likely not be playing in a New Year’s Six Bowl but will still be competing in an exciting game. Early predictions have Notre Dame likely in the Reliaquest or Pop-Tarts Bowl. The Reliaquest Bowl will take place on January 1, 2024, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. They will likely face LSU or Ole Miss. LSU would present a familiar foe in Brian Kelly, as Notre Dame can hopefully get a win over him and Heisman Favorite Jayden Daniels. As for Ole Miss, they are coached by Lane Kiffin and had a successful season; Notre Dame has only faced them twice, winning their most recent meeting. The Pop-Tarts Bowl takes place in Orlando, Florida on December 28 at Camping World Stadium. They would likely take on an ACC team in either Oklahoma State or Kansas State. We will know for sure who Notre Dame will face on December 3.

Tune in this weekend to see the exciting conference championship matchups! With Heisman hopefuls to championship contenders playing all weekend, we’ll know a lot more by Sunday who should win it, and what the college football playoffs and bowl games will look like. Look out for more Gameday news!
